cpu, which one?

Post by infor_mare »

I need to identify a processor that must be enough to manage 4 cameras 640x480 in Mocord rgb24.
I have 2 monitors with a montage "3 grid and enlarge alarm" too.
The views are very "dynamic" consider that we are talking about 4 streets with daily traffic.
Now i'm using a virtual server with 2 cpu + 1gb (on a 510d atom cpu), but after 10 minutes of montage , the views freezed.
Can you help me?

Thanks

How much real ram is in the system most likely you have a i/o problem what is load on main system if is over 2.0 you have a problem.

Also in my experience with zm you should only need around 1G of ram for that set-up. Also it not recommend to run zm under a virtual system because of its real time nature. A cheap dedicated box should do fine. My 1.6ghz core duo can run 5 ip cams a 800x600 doing motion detection and recording it uses 600mb of its 2gb of mem.

Also does just the view frease if so it probably the well know ff bug of holding the streams open in that case 2 options turn on mpeg mode. Or use one of the Gui viewers

Personally I like ZMviewer.
