My blood pressure hasn't been this high since a tenuous bout with Windows back in the day.
Had PCLOS2007-ZM worked great. But since I have a dynamic IP address, tried to get DYNDNS to work but to no avail. Switched to Ubuntu 9.10 which had ddclient, but the freakin monitor resolution wouldn't go beyond 640x480. Followed a suggestion in a PCLOS forum to try PCLOS2010. Installed, configured ZM 1.24. according to "Encouraged Method" in ZM Post. Installed fine-BUT NOW-can't get the camera to work. Nothing else has changed the same old PV149 card purchased from Bluecherry that worked with everything else. Have read enough threads to knit a sweater, but no answers. And now I know I am going to get my A$$ ripped by y'all, but this is why I despised Windows. Upgrades broke things which never made sense to me. Yup. Just last week I was in heaven with everything working except the DYNDNS issue of which would be nice, and everything unraveled from there. Amazing, just reinstalled PCLOS2007 with ZM, works great.
From what I see, others are having the same problem, but has anyone found an answer?

No solution for your path but do have a solution that just seems to work no matter what the hardware or configuration! I'm in the process of converting the last box right now while I'm smoking a turkey and a ham for evening's Easter dinner: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15430 I feel for this guy as my wife would be up on murder charges if she knew I wasn't constantly monitoring the Texas smoker! I've condensed the instructions to a text file if your interested, PM me. Otherwise be sure to read the follow-up post on capitalization. It's worth a try as I took a sledge to one box because nothing worked... pure frustration; good luck!
