So I was digging through old systems that my customers have abandoned over the years and I found an old DVR with a bad motherboard and RAM and a hicvision 8 channel card that seemed to be functioning just fine. so I ordered a bunch of these http://www.shoppingcctv.com/product_inf ... cts_id=942 cameras some a TB hard drive and built a DVR. the system works fine with windows XP and the crappy hicvision software. Hicvision provides a Fedora8 driver so I tried the ZM live cd, CentOS and Fedora12 (8 isn't available anywhere) and installed everything. no matter what I tried. xawtv could not find the card and when I went to start the card's driver it only returned no hardware found errors. I fallowed hicvisions instructions to a T. I contacted hicvision and I'm fairly certain their 'tech' thinks linux is a modified version of windows. the hicvision SDK was useless. Anyways long story short, after hours of research on this card and trying various things I'm throwing it away. I need a new card that will work with these cameras that I won't have to play with and modify and everything.

any suggestions?
