Not sure is this is 100% the correct forum for this. so please feel free to move it if required.

So, my idea/question is: Would zone minder work as a Video Message Booth?

By a Video Message Booth i mean, as place in a party (or in my case my Wedding) where i could set up a semi quiet area with a curtan around it and a laptop with webcam in a protective case/wall mounted.

The idea being, people go into this booth and leave the hosts/bride and groom a video message. I looked for motion activated systems (which is why i found Zone Minder) as i dont want people needing to click or interact with the computer, they should just walk in and have some indication its now recording and be able to talk to the camera.

What do you guys think? Doable with Zone Minder? Crazy idea?

I think it is very do able but I would use a camcorder of a good webcam(that is linux compatible).

some defused lights is another suggesting making the light 15 degrees off the camera make at look better.

Do you mean instead of using the built in cam? I was expecting to use a external camera, as the internal ones are generally not so great. Or did you mean something else.

Thats a good tip! Not sure how much control we will have of the lighting, but i might try that.

If you get the audio portion of your idea to work please post how you did it. I guessing there would be a lot of interest. Otherwise it would be a simple set up.

oh crap yeah it might not be it good idea zm cant do audio.
