Can only view 1 channel after adding a 2nd monitor

Post by Geoff »

Hi all. I'm new to ZoneMinder and I'm having some issues migrating from Windows to Ubuntu. I'm running ZM 1.24.2-2build3 installed through Synaptic on Ubuntu 10.04. My first problem is that my capture card (a Q-See QSPDVR04 with a Techwell 6804 chipset) isn't well supported on Linux. I did find and install the tw68-v2 driver, and it seems like this works just fine. I can see my cameras perfectly with xawtv. I can also add a monitor with ZoneMinder. However, when I try to add more than 1 monitor at the same time (my card is a 4 channel card), the video for the 1st channel becomes the video for the 2nd channel. So I can only see a single channel on both monitors! The video also starts to flicker heavily. Any idea what could be causing this? Am I doomed to buying a new capture card/going back to Windows?

Here is the output of /var/log/messages:

Try increasing CAPTURES_PER_FRAME to 2 or 3. I believe this is a one chip card and this setting change is well documented in the forums to work on other single chip cards. You will take a fps hit though.
