Analogue Cameras, new to me.

Post by kp4djt »

I have inherited the service of system using 8 analogue cameras, so I am going to have
to learn how to set up a frame grabber card on ZM.

I would like to ask which card you all recommend? I believe that this customer will want
to see at least 10-15fps. I perhaps can get him to go lower once we see pricing. The
customer is more interested in WATCHING the live video, but wants to record.

The customer equipment has a 8 port card which is labelled Geovision but it appears to
be a counterfeit. I am trying to put it into service, but the customer once I told him the
card was a fake, wanted to get away from it.

The customer inherited this video system from the original owner and knew nothing about
it but that it no longer worked. he had sent the machine to a computer shop, they took all
of the software off of the machine. I talked to Geovision about the card, based on what
they told me it appears to be a fake.

So what should I replace this card with in order to use the cameras (Sony, but not sure
what model)

Here are a couple of views of the card:
Component side

And the rear side of the board

I am going to continue trying to see if I can get it to work. I am using ZMLARCH for this.
I am going to put in a couple of IP cams and see if the customer will try some of them.

Please take a little look to the wiki, here's the part for that card http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... ip_8inputs
Be sure to check the "pico2000" part.

I looked at that, I assume that it pretty much holds true for this card too??
