I'm a newbe to umbutu,apache and zoneminder. However, I've managed to get an web server and ftp server to work, I'm now trying to get zoneminder to work with a usb webcamera. The camera works fine with cheese and xawtv. I am able to take still shots and video using cheese but when I run zoneminder, I end up with a white screen and cam1 (device name) at the top. At the bottom of the camera screen I get a message that says waiting for localhost.This ,of course,is the address in firefox I use to call up zoneminder. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 . I've fixed the ip address in interfaces and my router.
Can anyone tell me where to start looking for this problem?

i don't know what you mean by posting my source settings but--
i'm using ubuntu 10.04---apache2 2.2.14 and zoneminder 1.24.2.

in looking through my files,i found the following

Same issue. I receive camera feed in XawTV. I configured the camera in ZoneMinder but when I go to the Monitor feed I do not see a video. I see at the bottom "Waiting for localhost" and then nothing happens :S

Any common mistake?
