shared memory

Hi!
I have got some questions about shared memory settings.
When i compile zm with mmap=yes then i must not change the
kernel.shmall & kernel.shmmax ? Is all ok with memory when the monitor is orange coloured? I think i have some prolems with the memory, i have got a 4x saa7134 card and the jpeg stream with 720x576pal rgb24 works perfect, but when i cange to mpeg streaming, the stream works only on 320x240 rgb24
or 720x576 with greascale! I have compiled with mmap=yes! Should i compile it without mmap?
Please somebody help me to set the memory correct. I need the mpeg stream because the qulity of jpeg at 25fps is not ok for me.
My system is: celeron dualcore e3500, 2gb ram, debian 5 lenny !
I am a linux and zm beginner. I worked on the install of the system about 5 weeks, but at the moment it is not ready for 24/7 running.
