I have used Windows based surveillance systems and they seem to be able to display more cameras at a time with more real-time like viewing.
Does ZM send all frames received to remote viewer? If so, should it? Or should there be a way to drop a certain percentage of frames before sending to viewer?
Also, if the viewer is set to display 1/2 or 3/4 views (as opposed to actual or other), should zm scale down the video before sending to viewer? That would also cut down on bandwidth.
I wouldn't mind looking at some of these things if I knew where to look and start. Maybe if I have to ask that question I shouldn't even begin to think about it.

Faster viewing of mpeg/asf or other video streams
ZM has 4 different bandwidth profiles that you can choose from.
3 modes (high/medium/low) are available with the classic skin and the last mode is available with the mobile (phone) skin.
You can change the scale, maximum framerate & bitrate to suit your needs.
These values are the values that affect the output stream and NOT the input stream. So you could be capturing at 25fps and only output at like 2fps if you really want to.
The most important thing here is that you select the correct bandwidth profile to start with.
Unfortunately the stupid scale thing is broken with the Montage view in 1.24.2.
The other disappointing thing is that if you have multiple cameras with different resolutions is that you can't set a default resolution to scale to. I'm not sure if people have mentioned this as a new feature or not.
