what is maxlifetime and shared data not initialized mean

Can anyone explain what maxlifetime means in my syslog file and what does the shared data not initialized by capture daemon mean in my
messages file. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04--apache2.2.14 and zoneminder 1.24.2. ihave video out of my bluecherry pv143
card (slow <1fps) but i can't get usb videocam to work.

I have the WAR [Shared data not initialised by capture daemon, some query functions may not be available or produce invalid results] errors too since I installed the new skin!!!
