Hello

I`ve wirelles connection to the network (1024/128 kbit/sek , 5Ghz). I`d like to set zone minder on PC, connect to it 2 cams. I haven`t external IP so I plane to upload jpeg`s from cams to external ftp server.
Some questions:

1. is it possible to set zone minder without external IP , just with upload photos to ext. server for example with 1/sek?
2. what card do I need to connect those cams (what types of cams with IR)?
3. is it possible to set it on read only system like FLASHR or Linux on CF card?

A little unclear as to what your asking, but I would tell you that you can get a free domain name from dyndns.com which will allow you to have a domain name like "something.selfip.net" which points to your server (this would resolve any issues with you not having a static ip). You would of course need do some port forwarding on your router in order to direct the request to your zoneminder server. (Obviously if you dont have access to the router then this option is out the window, b/c there will be some configuration to do).

If your using wireless cams you don't need any cards for zoneminder to work, only if your using hard wired cams would you need some type of capture card. You can check out bluecherry.net, who sale some very cheap 4 port cards which are compatible with linux and zoneminder.

Not sure about the other question your asking. Good luck, I would encourage you to read up on the zone minder forum here. I have found most of my answers by browsing through others posts.
