31998 files limit

Hi,

So I've found the 31998 files limit the hard way

I'm hoping that archiving the files might help...

So questions are
1). Will archiving half the problem (i.e enable me to have 31998 archived and 31998 events?
2). If 1 is true can I have more than 31998 archived?
3). If neither 1 of 2 is true, what's the best way to backup the events so I can still access them?
4). If events are archived will they still be lost if I enable deep storage?

Looks like I might be converting to reiserfs either way ...........

If your archive then on the same box, no you can't, because thats a limitation of the file system you're using, not of zoneminder. Also if you enable deep storage, everything gets wiped out (learned it the very bad way...)

You could backup your database and your files, create a new install with a reiser file system then restore everything, and the problem will be gone.
