How to move images to aternative location?

Please can someone explain how I get zoneminder to save images to a location other than the default. I have a stripped raid array that I would like to use as storage.

I have tried moving the /var/cache/zoneminder directory to the raid array and then creating a symlink but this results in errors and no streaming.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
