I just purchased the DCS-930L from bestbuy and decided to try it out. I got it working with the following configuration
on Modect
MaxFPS 20
Alarm FPS 20
Remote Host Name - username:password@<ip>
port - 80
Remote Host Path - /image.jpg?
640x480 24bit color
Buffersize 10
warmup frames 10
HTTP_VERSION 1.1
MPEG_LIVE_FORMAT mpeg
MPEG_REPLAY_FORMAT mpeg
PATH_FFMPEG /usr/bin/ffmpeg
OS - Fedora 14
UPDATE:
My setup wasn't working as smoothly as a had hoped. I had a lot of freezes and such. After increasing shared memory and resetting my install here are my new settings.
Remote Host Path - /image/jpeg.cgi
Buffersize 40
warmup frames 25
UPDATE2:
my camera would not exit alarm state after a few days of working normally. The new events always had the date of 1969. I think it was a database corruption. I've switched over to InnoDB from MyISAM database engine. Hopefully that makes it more stable.
UPDATE3:
I went back to the MyISAM engine because InnoDB was acting funny. I ran the mysqltuner program and implemented the changes in /etc/my.cnf and that seemed to make the system a lot more stable with no extended alarms and 1969 dates.
I get a consistant 10 fps.
