browser - no sound

Hi folks.
Running 1.23.3 on Ubuntu from the repository, and I have no sound working on the client browser. Everything else works great.
It did work fine and suddenly quit, so I wonder if I modified something and stuffed it.
This is my first post, so I'd also like to say hi, and thanks to the movers and shakers for a great piece of software.
