No Access To Source Tab

I just installed Zoneminder thru synaptic in Mepis 11(Debian based). I'm trying to get 2 IP wireless cameras working. I had one of the cameras working several months ago when playing with Zoneminder to see if the camera would work. It does.

Now when I go to "add new monitor", I can only enter information on the "general" tab. All of the other tabs are not accessible. See attached image.

This is probably a simple fix and maybe there is something not set up right.

Any and all help much appreciated.

Hi,

I had the same problem, run apt-get upgrade, followed by apt-get update. I believe that some dependencies of php are not updated.

Hope it helps, post results.

Thanks, gave that a whirl and same results.

I was wondering if it had something to do with the database set up.

I still think that you have the same problem as I had, so you need to upgrade your system. Check that the repositories in your sources.list match the version you have installed.

Which dependencies are used by zonemider, in regards to the php/mysql packages?

All of the repos are checked, reloaded and nothing shows up as upgradable.

I can't recall exactly which was the dependency I had to upgrade, but I believe was something related with PHP or python
Could you post your versions, so we could compare?.

Add this repository to your /etc/apt/sources.list -> deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian sid main, try again to apt-get update, then apt-get upgrade.

Find out the dependencies here : http://packages.debian.org/unstable/net/zoneminder
These are some of mine:
# php --version -> PHP 5.3.6-6 with Suhosin-Patch (cli) (built: Mar 31 2011 19:51:41)
# perl --version -> v5.10.1 (*) built for arm-linux-gnueabi-thread-multi
# python --version -> Python 2.6.6
# apache2 -V -> Server version: Apache/2.2.17 (Debian)

Let's check those and continue with the list in the previous link.

Hope it helps,

PacoLM

I did a clean install of Mepis 11 and then re-installed zoneminder and hte dependencies, plus all of the other packages as per the wiki. still the same problem.

I upgraded the packages listed above and have these versions.

Apach2 - ver 2.2.17-3
php5 - ver 5.3.6-8
perl - ver 5.10.1-19
python - ver 2.6.6-14

Also upgrade zoneminder ver 1.24.2-8 to 1.24.2-9

The results is the same.

Been thru all of the dependencies from the link you provided and all are installed.

Not sure where to go now. Probably something simple.

OK, this blows my mind. I have an install of Ubuntu 10.04 and installed Zoneminder and went thru the tutorial and I have no problem adding a monitor and all of the tabs work.

It is showing red, but that is a matter of tweaking.

I'd like to know why the other distros don't work. Even tried a 4.6.2 version of KDE :shock:
