Please help to get best possible picture from my setup
Posted: Sun May 08, 2011 10:24 am
Good day all.
I have been trying to learn how to use and config zoneminder for quite some time, but I still can't fully grasp how to get all the settings right.
Here is my current hardware:
Intel QuadCore Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz, 4GB DDR2 Memory, 500GB SATA Hard Drive, Hauppauge WinTV PAL-I 44805 REV D111 PCI Card (single Conexant Fusion 878A chip).
Yoko Technology Corp
RYK-2B79L2/1
Resolution:..............540 TVL.
Picture Elements:.....PAL 752x582.
So far I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 64Bit Server, ZoneMinder via apt-get and Cambozola manually.
I would like to setup Motion Detection so that I don't just eat up all the hard drive space.
I would like to record at least 5 sec before an event and 10sec after the event.
I don't mind the picture being in colour or grayscale, what ever gives me the best picture.
I don't really need to pickup or record movement from cars, ect, but must be able to pickup and record any movement by pepole, day or night.
If you need any more details, so that you can help me, just let me know, and I will reply asap.
So can you please advise the best settings to use for this setup.
Thanks for your time.
Best Regards.
