At startup ZM checks for updates. I installed ZM 1.24.3 from SVN and it says in syslog when checking for updates version 1.24.2:

May 18 19:59:12 argus zmupdate[1246]: INF [Checking for updates]
May 18 19:59:12 argus zmupdate[1246]: INF [Got version: '1.24.2']

Yes, I usually give it a little while to ensure that there are no scary bugs lurking in the new release before updating the latest version globally.
