need help: no live video

hello all,
i recently did a fresh install on Kubuntu 10.04LTS 64-bit and and attempting to combine zoneminder and asterisk on a single home automation server.
the hardware should have plenty of horses, the hardware is the following:
Supermicro Core2quad mobo, with 4 gigs of Ram, 5X PCI slots, 1x PCIE16X, 1 PCIE4x
LSI RAID-5 array EM8404 on a PCIE 4X port (ergo, plenty of bandwidth)
2x IVC-200G video capture cards
2X TDM-410 digium asterisk analog cards (2x FXS, 6x FXO)
and a EVGA Nvidia 9800GT PCIE 16x video card
1x USB port for an insteon 2413U, and 1x RS-232 port for a DSC power-832 alarm system
So, after installing, and everything was working fine, i installed asterisk, freepbx, and its' libs/deps.
still worked fine.... so, i changed the apache2 server to host two virtual servers: /var/www/zm and /var/www/freepbx
now, i get NO VIDEO on montage or per camera, but i can playback events from stills, or wait for it to generate a mpg....
so, this is my question:
how do i troubleshoot something that is seemingly fine and correct, (no complaints in syslog, faillog, messages) but is displaying NO VIDEO?
any help here is very appreciated....
