make it not start at boot

How do I make zoneminder start only when I tell it to?

Every time I start doing something with another video program and camera  it never works until I remember to turn off zoneminder.

I don't want to get rid of it because its handy to use on work hardware, where I have it running 9 cameras, but I'm at home and not using it to record anything, there usually isn't even a camera hooked up to it.

This is annoying me to no end.

The specific instructions will depend on what distro your using. In Fedora 14 (using GUI) it would be System::Administration::Services::Disable. Hope this gets you headed in the right direction.

That no work. Running it on ubuntu and mint.

It would be really nice to be able to use other programs and then if I wanted to, to turn on zoneminder. It's also annoying to start monkeying around with other programs and have to remind myself to turn off zoneminder after I've spent half an hour screwing with things.
