New to camera setup. This camera DID work with zm a few year

Post by alltech »

I was just reiterating, this camera

http://catalog.byte-kuzbass.ru/product_ ... s_id=73824

Did work with zone minder a few years ago. I really did not have to configure anything with zm running off the CD.

This time around, it is install on a working server. So, what should be the default settings for this camera? I get zero fpm from any camera setting I select. I have used 320x240 frame size PAL, NTSC and so on.

Help is much appreciated.

Try BGR24 for a palette instead of RGB. Read english only so guessing on camera type.

Camera already set on rgb24

Also, want to mention. I click on monitor-1 and the screen is black. It also had NO time stamp

Camera is working, but, it has lots of horitontal lines in guvcvidio please look. Is this card to be configured in terminal?

Had a similar problem using RGB24 after upgrade to 1.24.2; had to change cameras to BGR24 to make them work. There is a big difference between these palettes.

bb,

Out of curiosity, I wanted to be sure zoneminder was running "there was no previous indication on boot or otherwise is was not running". So, I did a service zoneminder start and it crashed! It was not even running! To bad the web interface did not have some kind of "green light/red light" indicator that zoneminder was up, or down.

Second, I think my driver settings ie, the sync?? needs to be changed? at the command line. When you saw those lines in that linux app, that was strait from the driver. So, I suspect its a driver config issue feeding the wrong stream to zoneminder.

If anyone can beat me to it, what url has info on btx4x driver changes?

Check /etc/modprobe.d/bttv.conf and make sure settings match your card type. Sorry I missed the reference to 848 chipset. They by design can't be recognized like newer chipsets. Check this post maybe it'll help: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... onf#p70376

Saw your post against the above link; this is generally not the problem so it isn't one of the first suggested fixes but it seems to be becoming much more common. Your last description nailed the bttv.conf fix, good luck.

bb,

Well, I created the config file, and was able to start zoneminder sucsessfully. Zone minder is only a image organizer. It only takes in a signal and then post processes it. So, With that in mind, My driver some how needs to be changed ie, option settings to match the card? or the camera?

I cannot do this now. I am away from my residence on vacation. Should I get back, I wonder what is the best corse of action? I would even be tempted to pull the card and take a pic of it to show the chipset.

Is it too late to copy the setting in the live CD bttv.conf and insert them into this system? Let me know when you're back, this will work out.

bb99,

will be back on the first. thanks so far for the very quick replies. Much much appriciated. BTW, Do you know of a list of BNC cctv cards that can work for zoneminder? I purchaced my 4 connector BNC card from some one in china a couple years back.

Is there a more direct way to contact you other then zoneminder?

bb,

Back from vacation.

Anyway, this is the card that I own.

http://howell-advance-technology-co.tra ... w-104.html

DVR Card Hw-104
DVR Card Hw-104
HW-104 CHINA
Posted Date: January 29, 2006
Specifications: Input type: No Video input:1-4 cams Recording rate:30 fps(ntsc),25fps(pal) Display rate:30 fps(ntsc),25fps(pal) Video resolution:352*288; 768*288; 768*576 Compression format: Mpeg-4 File size:2-4kb Netwok: LAN, cable modem, isdn, ptsn Ptz: Rs323(pan/tilt/zoom/iris)

The main processor on the card says this:

CONEXANT
FUSION 878A
25878-13
0441y1up

Did a look up on the main cpu, its more then a bt878 processor. Interesting.

http://www.conexant.com/servlets/Downlo ... 98&revid=1

Now, I have identified another card on the zone minder list that shares the same processor.
I will see now what I can do to make this work right this this information.

for some odd reason, there was no info in /etc/modprobe.conf. So I added the bbtv info and rebooted. I am getting vidio but, it is ghosting. Here is a pic. What do you think is the cause of this?

http://imagebin.org/165858

also, I did not know this, but have a /etc/modprobe.d/bttv.conf file and in it is:

options
# For fast loading
options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1

# Pico2000 clone, 4 inputs 1 chip

options bttv gbuffers=16 card=77 radio=0 tuner=4 chroma_agc=1 combfilter=2 full_luma_range=1 coring=1

Card type (number) could be wrong? Poor connection or cable, weak power supply. Try unplugging the power supply to the camera, wait a few seconds and plug back in. Double check where the card settings for the distribution you're using are on it's forum site. Card=77 seems right but could be in wrong location.
