Cant Recognize the Video Source

Hello there ,
Xubuntu 10.04 Zoneminder 1.24.2
I just setup up zoneminder with instructions on the documentation page under ubuntu. It started up fine i guess. The webcam is detected and streams using other software like xawtv. It shows the video source. But when I enter that video source into zoneminder, the display is blank. Its not streaming at all. I dont know what to do. I changed format and other settings but ended up the same way. I think its has something to do with the sysctl.conf file and the additional kernel.shmall thing.

When I try zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v it says error, failed to crop /dev/video0 : invalid argument.
I must have made a change because before that It told me couldnt find that source.


Can someone post the solution?
