ok I've tried two cameras they both seem to have issues when displaying the video

one 10 year old creative webcam 3(usb). It says in the wiki it is supported by zoneminder however even when i tried every possible combination for device format and capture pallete i wasn't able to see the video properly, all i saw was red/green/blue lines (in case of RGB) , black and white (in case of gray) and green with white lines (in case of YUYV).

the other usb camera i've tried has similar effects.

anyone knows what's going on here?

2nd day i'm trying to setup this up

also it seems that lsusb can find my camera

"Bus 003 Device 003: ID 05a9:a511 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. OV511+ Webcam"

and the camera works if i test it with some other application
please help, i'm in the dark here

it seems that none of my cameras are UVC compatible ...

anyway i'll probably buy a Foscam F18904W Wireless from Ebay, however i'm not sure if it is going to work with centos and zoneminder without much fuss. If you know any cameras that will please let me know.
