Hi all,
I've spent a few days trying to get this set up (I'm completely new to linux and new to zoneminder). After a lot of failure I seem to be at the point where I can browse to localhost/zm and set up a monitor.
However when I view that monitor, I get a white box with the little image icon in the top left corner, no picture. My webcam (creative nx pro USB) does work with ubuntu (it gave me the option to take my user account picture with it).
I have searched the web and am seeing things about adobe ANT, sun JAVA jdk, and how newer versions of ubuntu moved the location of some folders. I have tried to install ANT and JAVA, but am not sure I did it correctly at all.
I'm running ubuntu 11.10 32 bit, but have no problem wiping this off and trying a different version or distribution.
If anyone has any suggestions on what to try next I'd really appreciate it.

I've got a bit closer I think, if (and only if) I set the video dimensions to NTSC, grey, 100px x 100px, I get a noise/static graphic as my 'feed'.
Setting it any higher than this results in no image at all. I'm able to connect to it and view the same noise image from the network, just need to figure out why I can't get a proper image from the camera (it works in xawtv fine).
