Good day all.

As per the title, I am looking to upgrade my current server from v1.24.2 to the lastest version of zoneminder.

My server is currently running ubuntu 11.04 x64 server, and I installed zoneminder v1.24.2 with apt-get.

I only know basic linux commands.

Can someone please advice me how I go about upgrading my current zoneminder to the lastest version.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

My advice would be not to.
Wait until Zoneminder v1.25.0 appears in an Ubuntu repository and use that version.
I am currently having *huge* problems trying to compile zone minder from source on Ubuntu (as are others, particularly with ffmpeg support) and no clear answer has been forthcoming so far. See topic
Let us know if you manage it!!

Or try this successful build/liveCD: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... =6&t=18782
I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising.

I wanted to upgrade to 1.25 to see if it helps with my current problems I am having.

Here are my posts:
Xvision X100V MegaPixel Indoor/Outdoor IP Camera.
Can't get RTSP working in v1.24.2.
Corrupted video stream using ffmpeg.
