Is it possible with Zoneminder, hide private areas?

It depends on what you mean by "Private areas hiding".
For instance if you have 4 cameras and 1 should be private, this is easy to accomplish by enabling user login and restricting the camera.

If you mean block part of an image from a specific camera, that is done in some of my cameras (mostly Axis) by uploading a 'mask' to the camera. ZoneMinder isn't used to accomplish this.

I'm using a small piece of 1/4" plywood, another local user is using tape on the glass lens endcap. Noticed a post where cardboard was used to block out a light that otherwise would've washed the entire picture out. I should add: if you just don't want to trigger recording in that area check out inactive zones in the doc.
