Hi!, well I've set up a server with zoneminder, wich first I would like to say it seems to be an excellent software solution for security. But the situation is that I connect the webcam and I can see the image through cheese, and by cheese I found that the source of the video is /dev/video0 and the resolution is 352x288, the webcam is a Genius Eye 110, and my linux installation is Zentyal 32bits, this distro is a server dedicated distro, based on Ubuntu Server 10.4LTS, I followed the instructions on the zoneminder wiki for Ubuntu Server 10.4. When I try to add a new monitor on the ZM web interface,I set the source to /dev/video0, but part of my question is: Which Decive Channel, Device Format, and Capture Palette to use? I've been searching and found that here in zoneminder may people set it as PAL and te palette to YUYV or RGB24. I made that, but I only see colored static with YUYV and with RGB24 B&W static. The active led of the webcam is on, and if at the same time I try to use Cheese, Cheese closes before showing an image.
Is there a way to set up the webcam, or did tou recomend to buy a new one (This webcam is pretty old, maybe from 2007)? And if thats the case, which model or brand you recomend?
I really wish to have this server working as a security cam server, I already have it as a small office server.
Thank you, and sorry if my english is not quite accurate.

Well, after searching a bit more on google I've found nothing, I seems the eye110 is not supported, but I brought a cheap Chinese camera and I works great with:
Channel: 0
Format: Pal
Palette: YUYV
Resolution 640 x 420

I think the resolution maybe can be changed I tested with the ones I found while testing the camera on Cheese, so this could give you an idea of what resolution to select.
