Hi Peoples
I have a new install of ZM on Ubuntu and now looking to replace a few cams that we have, has anyone used or know if AXIS P5512-E PTZ cameras work with ZM, I know AXIS have a good rep with ZM that why i have recommended them to out purchasing department and this is the camera that they came back with.
so i thought i would see if anyone has used this camera and what the performance was if they had

I think that is the outdoor version. I am currently using a Axis P5534 PTZ. MJPEG, RTSP, SNMP, NTP works on the camera. The Axis API is an older version and is not upgradable for my P5534. So right now I'm trying to figure out how to deal with PTZ functionality in ZoneMinder. It is possible, it just needs to be scripted. Granted I don't know how far off 5512 is from the 5534. I think it is different resolutions. Anyway, mine is for home use and my P5534 (indoor) is mounted outdoor.
I am able to use Zoneminder MPEG with RTSP/H.264 with the camera and I am also RSTP streaming with Quicktime at the same time. Looks good. Just remember POE != POE+. Meaning 802.3af for POE and 802.3at for POE Plus. Make sure you get the right power inverter, or you won't have enough juice to power the motors on the PTZ. At least that is my experience.
I've contacted Axis Support with any problems related to the camera (don't contact them for Zoneminder support, it isn't their area) and they have great support.
Look at my 1st post in ZoneMinder v1.25 section for more info.
