Alarm/Maximum FPS

Post by _saiko »

Hi,

I'm currently running ZM 1.25.0 compiled from source on ArchLinux /w P4 3.6 2GB DDR2.
The cam is Axis M7001, currently using the cam's 10fps (cam throttled) MJPEG stream with Remote/http/simple /axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi
I'd like to use the Mocord mode and record at 2fps, except during alarm events which should be recorded at 10fps.

I realize the inability to throttle the fps on server side with MJPEG.
Sadly with any throttling applied to the h264 stream i'm getting flickering (even with tcp option) so that doesn't seem like a good solution either.

What are my best choices?
What mode, stream and alarm/maximum fps are you people mostly using?

The most stable approach it seems is mocord mode with mjpeg at constant 10fps (throttled only at cam side)?
Then again that's a lot of storage...

What do you think?
