Recording from Everfocus DVR

After years of MS torture I am switching to linux based systems where possible. I am relatively new to both linux and Zoneminder.

I have had a Zoneminder platform running for about a year. I record a mix of digital IP cameras and my older analog cameras connect via an Aviosis 9100A web server. Everything is running well as is and I am going to be switching from a machine with 1 Mb of memory to a machine with 10Mb of memory and a raid array shortly.

My question deals with recording the output from a traditional DVR. I have an Everfocus ECOR 264 4X1 DVR with 4 analog cameras at another site. I can view the DVR remotely thru a web browser or thru the iphone app. I would like to simultaneously record the output from that DVR in Zoneminder over the network. I envision the setup would be similar to what I am doing with the Aviosis 9100A but I cannot find any configuration info anywhere. I have tried a number of configurations without success. Is this possible? Does anybody know how to configure it?

Thanks for your assistance.

If the Everfocus DVR has an option to view images with firefox / no active X
you might get the image string from that. I do network connections for CCTV
companies and have worked with quite a few DVR brands.
i'm not sure which ones will work with firefox but some do, mostly just to view cam streams.

Thanks for your reply. I often spend my days responding to "I can't view my cameras on my phone anymore" requests. The Everfocus DVR does require an Active X capable browser or one of the two Iphone/Ipod apps to view remotely. I thought somebody here might know a way around this.

Check this topic: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... =9&t=18137
This guy has some code he calls zmodopipe that pulls camera streams from a DVR appliance allowing him to use ZoneMinder to monitor those streams using source type ffmpeg.

^^ This is very interesting and might just work. Not a simple solutions but I think there is merit in this.

I knew the answer could be found here.
