Initial setup, all sources red, exit status 255

Hey all, I've spend all night going back and forth across this forum and the wiki and couldn't find anything. I'm convinced I've missed something simple, but figured I'd ask.
After testing out 3 different USB cams:
Starting pending process, zmc -d /dev/video0
'zmc -d /dev/video0' starting at ...
'zmc -d /dev/video0' exited abnormally, exit status 255
Starting pending process zma -m 4
'zma -m 4' starting at ...
Starting pending process, zmc -d /dev/video2
'zmc -d /dev/video2' starting at ...
Starting pending process, zma -m 3
'zma -m 3' starting at ...
Starting pending process, zma -m 2
'zma -m 2' starting at ...
Starting pending process, zmc -d /dev/video1
'zmc -d /dev/video1' starting at ...
'zma -m 4' exited abnormally, exit status 255
'zmc -d /dev/video2' exited abnormally, exit status 255
'zma -m 2' exited abnormally, exit status 255
'zma -m 3' exited abnormally, exit status 255
'zmc -d /dev/video1' exited abnormally, exit status 255
It seems to just continue this process every few minutes. I've checked permissions (as far as I can tell), I've checked the settings (as far as I can tell), it seems that everything is hung up on that 'status 255', which, I'm sure is a silly fix that I missed.
Let me know if I can provide a more full log or any other information on my configuration.
Thanks.
