CCTV System Hardware Help
I am looking to set up a CCTV system for my restaurant. We had a professional come in and quote us at a ridiculous rate, so I am looking to do it myself, with the help of my friend who is an electrician. One thing that we did get out of the quote, however, it is that we will need somewhere in the vicinity of 20 cameras. From what I have read I probably want to go with analog cameras due to the major increase in processing power required for a large number of IP cameras (or possibly a combination of the two). I am looking for suggestions on cameras and capture cards. I will figure out computer hardware around my camera hardware. I am also looking for anyone to poke holes in my reasoning, assuming holes exist.

you can go all-IP cams, so Long as you have the cameras themselves do motion detection. It is neither better or worse than an analog solution, only a little more money and less flexibility with regards to lenses. More flexibility and ease of deployment with the IP cams. The Axis cams will all notify ZM of a motion event and trigger recording. Many other cams can do it, but do your homework.
If you go analog for 20, It will take two cards.
