missing controls tab

Hi,
I'm pretty new to zm and just got an installation successfully done on Ubuntu Server. Whatever I'm doing the 'controls tab' in the 'new monitor' window is missing. The 'ZM_OPT_CONTROL' option is also not visible (logged in as admin). What I'm doing wrong, can somebody help? Thanks in advance!!
