missing .sock

Hi. all goes well in installation until in response to

mysql mysql < zmschema.sql

I get

ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

And in fact the .sock file does not exist. I am a complete novice. Any ideas?Best wishes,Mark

Hi Mark,

I think the most likely cause for this is that mysql is not actually running, is you do a ps can you see mysql processes?
