Intel vs AMD for zma

Right now, the PC hardware review community seems to favor Intel over AMD for desktop CPUs, but very few desktop workloads make good use of multiple cores. I'm left wondering how different processors would perform while running a lot of instances of zma.

Since a quad-core AMD A10-5800K goes for about the same price as an Intel Core i3-3220, which one is better for a zoneminder server? I'm open to hearing different theories, but I would really like to hear from people who have benchmarked one or both of those configurations.
