I have zoneminder from the Fedora repo and setup with Fedora 17 specifics from th zm wiki.

Using new Foscam F18910, I get the following error in the zm log:

"Can't open memory map file '/dev/shm/zm.mmap.1': No such file or directory"; which turns out to be correct.

I have googled and found this seems to be a common problem on many installations but none of the posts seem to have a complete solution I understood.

Any suggestions specific to F17?

I dont know much about the issue and the solution but did you check to make sure the permissions were set correctly for that directory and file for user www-data to access?

Have you got the correct packages installed for memory mapping? Can't recall off the top of my head what they are but I believe you also need support for it in your kernel
