Using ZoneMinder as a remote view and control

I'm unable to determine if ZoneMinder will view a Q-See system remotely (Model QC40108, includes local DVR and screen - 8 cameras). ZoneMinder is not the local display software at the system site. I would be using ZoneMinder ONLY as remote view and control software.

The remote computer runs Ubuntu 12.04 - 64 bit, and is a fully "normal" set up, not a server or "headless" system.

From reading the docs, it seems either that this is not possible, or it is unclear what modules and setup are needed to do this on my remote computer.

If it is possible to do this, I would REALLY appreciate a list of how to accomplish this, uncomplicated by reference to servers and headless systems, etc.

I can get ZoneMinder installed from Synaptic, but not sure which of the 3 additional modules I need, if any. Also, I get the following problems on attempted install of Depends for Mythzoneminder: mythtv-frontend but it is not going to be installed

Also, my machine is a 64 bit, so I'm not sure which if any modules work in 64 bit.
