zmc -d /dev/video0' exited abnormally, exit status 11

I have a bttv bt878 card which i am trying to get working. Using xawtv i can see all the images on the correct channels. However, on zoneminder when i add more than one camera, the links turn red and the error i am getting is zmc -d /dev/video0' exited abnormally, exit status 11

Any pointers with this would be much appreciated as i have searched high and low and am at a dead loss with it now.

v4l-conf returns the following:

even though i can see the images and channels in xawtv, could/does the above errors cause a problem in zm

For the benefit of anyone else who has this problem, my solution was linked to four video inputs sharing one bt878 chip.

In the options section of the console, the capture_per_frame under the config tab needs to be set to the number of cameras being used per card, ie two cameras on a four port card cured the problem for me
