Ubuntu 12.10 won't boot with WinTV PVR 150 Low Profile card

I've a new ubuntu server install (12.10) which won't boot with a WinTV PVR-150 card. About 15 seconds after power on the system hangs with messages about ivtv0 unknown card and defaulting to WinTV PVR-150. At this point the system hangs. I'm guessing I need to set a pci irq or add a driver to the kernel. Hoping someone here can provide guidance. Thanks in advance.
