Ubuntu Upgrade issue - how to remove/reinstall ZM?

Hi Everyone,
I upgraded the server my ZoneMinder install runs on last night from Ubuntu 11.10 (?) to 12.04. The upgrade went fine, but ZM refuses to start now, with this error:
/opt/zm/bin/zmfix: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.16: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I didn't find much googling and searching the forums, other than some posts from people who were successfully running ZM on 12.04 using the binaries available in the software center. I tried installing that binary hoping it would overwrite whatever the problem was with my existing install but it did not work.
At this point I think I'd like to just completely un-install ZM and start from scratch, but I'm not sure how to do that. I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me a push in the right direction.
