I'm still trying to figure out the motion detection settings. Running 1.25 on an Ubuntu 12.04.02 LTS desktop for a while with an USB and an IP camera of 1600x1200 and 640x480 pixels with 4 frames per second set in the ZM setup. Have even recently upgraded my hardware and did a fresh install to get some more resources and processing power.
But no matter how I play with the predefined zone settings I manage to get alarms, but only when clouds move over and the entire picture changes brightness. People can walk by, cars drive by, trees wave in the wind and these are all unregistered.
What do I need to do to get a reliable motion detection to work. Which parameters influence this erratic behaviour and how do I make ZM recognize moving objects instead of moving clouds throwing their shadows. I currently stick to Mocord, but with one camera at 1600x1200 this eats my diskspace pretty fast.
Hope some of you can be of assistance,
Kind regards,
Arjen.
No motion is detected, cloudy sky and sunshine is, however
