Anyway, I'm a newb to Linux/Ubuntu but want to set up my webcam and old PC with ZoneMinder. A few years back, I installed Ubuntu on an eMachines T2824. I messed around with it a bit, read some of my Ubuntu book, but never came anywhere close to mastering it. I essentially shut it down for a few years and just fired it back up last week. My specs are as follows:

I'd like some help setting this up as I'm kind of lost. Is it worth it for me to set up ZoneMinder without much experience with Ubuntu? Will it be too much trouble? Can I get this done in a few hours? What do I need to update/install/configure/know to get this done that may not be obvious in the Documentation Wiki?
