At a loss for the right search term, here. Terms / links appreciated.
zm 1.25, kubuntu 12.04lts, firefox ...
Having clicked on an event, I get the normal / very nice screen with the single event in a table along the top, Event / Rename button, Replay / All Events & Scale buttons, Delete / Edit / Export / {etc} choices, the video clip, a 'button' bar underneath, and a 'frame' scale. See attached screen shot.
The wiki documentation, http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Documentation, doesn't seem to much touch on this page.
Is there a description / documentation on, for example, the 'button bar' present on this screen? e.g. Some buttons are outlined in green, some blue, some red - meaning?
Although one might think everything intuitive, I'm not quite getting there - e.g. After the clip having played initially, clicking |> to play again does nothing. Clicking along the time line does nothing. [Browser issue? Preferred browser (Firefox?) and caveat's links? Chromium does not see to play video at all, even with cambozola unticked.]
Not sure how things are supposed to work here, so I'd appreciate any links to documentations / descriptions on it.
TIA.

[<+] = Go to previous event.
[<<] = Rewind faster
[ < ] = Step back one frame
[ || ] = Pause
[ |>] = Play
[ > ] = Step forward one fram
[>>] = Fast forward
[ - ] = Zoom out
[+>] = Next event
The previous and next event only work for me while the video is playing. If I let it finish the video I get "Time to next event" black screen and cant view anymore. I have not figured out how to fix this issue and every time I try to search for it the forum wont let me because the "Time to next event" words are too common. >:(
You can fast forward and rewind multiple times to increase speed.
Step back and forward only work when paused so you can view frame by frame.
Zoom out only works when you have zoomed in to the image. You zoom in by clicking on the image in the area you want to zoom into.

Thank you for this. The button labels and legends are pretty clear, on screen.theforce wrote: [<+] = Go to previous event.

- I read in some other post that choosing gapless seems to help with some playback issues.
I'm guessing ... blue (outlined) button = current active button, green buttons = currently pressable buttons, red buttons = currently unpressable buttons.
It seems my problem is / was how terribly slow things are. And this is directly on the zm machine, i7-2600k @ 3.4GHz. Because nothing appeared to be happening on screen, button presses didn't seem to be working.
Let things complete though, and the buttons seem to be doing their thing. But when it all seems to stop, mid-event, being so slow, it looks liked things were done - so pressing buttons didn't work, it wasn't actually through what it was doing.
Chromium appeared to be problematic, but now, given some greater familiarity, seems to largely work. No montage, but firefox will show that.
I still wonder about the grey (frame?) bar at the bottom.
I guess there's no wiki documentation on these aspects of zm use?

The bar on the bottom with all the boxes is a progress bar. You can click on it to jump to a point in the event. For me at least it does not work very well and slow to update.
