I am unable to get the video working in any of the usual screens. It does however navigate fill up the disk and show normal activity. So. i think it is working otherwise. It complains about monitor 1 and refuses to set it up properly. I can however set up any number of other monitors > 1 and, they work normally, except the picture.
Also the log shows an error or two. Perhaps it will tell someone whats up.
Have you tried to restart zoneminder after changing the monitor settings?. These errors complaining about the size of the memory map file should dissapear.

Yes i have. I did notice this morning that the log is reporting differently. here is the new log info. I presume that the video problem is related to the errors showing up on the log. At one time it was complaining about monitor size and a negative number. I dont see that now.
I believe this errors are related to the ffmpeg encoder or one of the libraries it uses. I tried to install ZM in all the gadgets I own, using mainly Debian and Ubuntu, and I got this error in one CuBox (ARM based device). I fixed the error that time downloading the source code of ffmpeg version 0.91 (I think, not completely sure about the version) and recompiling the ffmpeg encoder.
Hope it helps!

on the fedora 18 guide to install, there was some mention of ffmpeg having to be compiled because it was changed. perhaps that carrys over to Fedora 19. I will work on that. it is functioning otherwise though because i can pull up stills with no problems.
ffmpeg libraries from Fedora rpms do not work with zm. You have to install from source (yuck).
I have compiled ffmpeg but am not sure where the files should go. (my first compile). Also i installed the flash player. But no results. I am seeing a socks error in the log and am not sure how to attack that problem or if it even has anything to do with video.
I will study on the information and see what i can do. Fedora and deb are probably similar enough to follow the same steps. It may be worth noteing that the cameras are D-Link rather than the ones mentioned. Do you think the socket errors are related to the same issue?
I dont actually get jpg errors most of the time unless i am trying to view a monitor. It will happily sit on the console without complaint.

The above was captured just after i attempted to view several monitors.
I made the changes in ajax folder as outlined, with no noticable results. I will doubble check my work this weekent. I noticed the corrupt jpgs are more prevalent than i first thought. Hopefully i can work on that while i am gone.
I am going on vacation so i will not be able to reply for a few days.
Thanks for the reply and the links. I have copied the cgi files to the apache cgi directory as done in the post referenced. I can't see any difference in the socket problem. Did i mention that the socket problem only appears when i try to view a monitor. The jpg problem seems to have gone though. So all i am left with is the socket problem and the Video problem which i assume are related..
Try to change your Config::Paths::ZM_PATH_ZMS settings
"The ZoneMinder streaming server is required to send streamed images to your browser. It will be installed into the cgi-bin path given at configuration time. This option determines what the web path to the server is rather than the local path on your machine. Ordinarily the streaming server runs in parser-header mode however if you experience problems with streaming you can change this to non-parsed-header (nph) mode by changing 'zms' to 'nph-zms'."
Hope it helps,
