slow accessing videos

Hello Everyone

I have zoneminder 1.25 installed and working with ubuntu 12.04.
I currently have 5 foscam cameras running in modetect.
The issue I have is accessing video events. When I first click on an event to view it, the stream comes through fairly smooth.
But if I close that one and open up a diffent one it is much slower. Then if I close that and try to open another event I get nothing.
If I log out and log back in things return to normal until I start viewing events again.
If I access view events while in my home network, it is not quite as bad but does happen after a while.
Any hints on what might be going on and what I can do to help the situation?
