Previous source path does not work in 1.26.4

I have a virtual machine with zoneminder 1.25.0 installed running on Ubuntu desktop 12.04 LTS 64 bit. It was installed using these directions on zoneminder website Ubuntu_Server_12.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.25.0_the_easy_way
With this setup I have a Dahua IPC-HDBW3300 camera setup with source as ffmpeg and source path as "rtsp://admin:admin@10.1.1.168:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0?tcp" I can view and record the stream
I then setup a new virtual machine with a base install of Ubuntu desktop 12.04 LTS 64 bit and installed zoneminder 1.26.4 using these directions from github kylejohnson puppet-zoneminder
With that installed and using the same source and source path as in zoneminder 1.25.0 I cannot view the stream or record video. In the zm system log this is the error that I get:
2013-10-09 12:52:56.329053 zmc_m1 22118 FAT Unable to open input rtsp://admin:admin@10.1.1.168:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0?tcp due to: Operation now in progress zm_ffmpeg_camera.cpp 120
If I use this as the source path instead "rtsp://admin:admin@10.1.1.168:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0" I can view the stream however the bottom half of the image is just a blur of colors. Does anyone have an idea on how to correct this?
