Dlink DCS-930L and audio

I have a couple of DCS-930L cameras. I know Zoneminder does not support audio. Does installing ffmpeg lets you record in both video and audio when switched over mpeg mode?
is there additional hardware required?

Doesn't Zoneminder store all video as JPGs internally (even if you use ffmpeg?), and hence, there's STILL going to be no audio support?
I like your lateral thinking, but don't fancy your chances of getting it to work ...

well.. i tried. I wonder what it would take to adding streaming of audio.
