zmtrigger.pl Can't find monitor id

I've setup an axis-cam with the same settings as mentioned in this guide and as far as I can tell everything is setup correctly and all elements are in place.

However, instead of triggering alarms I only get these warnings in the log.

[Can't find monitor '2' for message '2|on+5|5|cause|text|showtext']

Both the zoneminder webinterface and the id value in the mysql table for the monitor confirm that '2' is correct. I've tried replacing the id with 'Axis' in the message sent from the camera, because the documentation for zmfilter.pl mentions using either id/name. Sadly this still gives me the warning above only with 'Axis' instead of '2'.

Anybody got any ideas where to go from here? As far as I can tell everything should be working correctly, but that is obviously not the case.
