Getting this properly set up....

Post by hong2221 »

System I'm running is a Pentium 4, 2gb ram, Conexant 878A 8-Port Video Capture Card, and 4 cameras hooked up right now. I got two HD, one SATA 1tb (Sorry it wasn't 1gb it was 1tb!) , another is IDE 120 GB. I have Ubuntu 12.04 32bit server edition installed on the 120 GB. I did the Ubuntu Server 12.04 64-bit with Zoneminder 1.27 the easy way install guide.

I'm able to get into my serverip/zm but I can't seem to get any video.
Right now I want to have the videos recorded 24/7 onto my 1Tb HD and be able to access it later. How do I do that?

I'm not sure what other information would be useful? But I can't see any videofeeds for the camera. HELP

Suggest setting up some monitors.

You're not going to get much with a 1GB drive for storage, though.

Sorry I meant 1 TB not GB

Also I got 2 of the Cameras working but I think I don't have it set up right.

when i type in

ls -1 /dev/video*

only
/dev/video0
/dev/video1
shows up..... i have 4 cameras hooked up

I'm starting to think I do not have the capture card installed properly. It works on ntsc m ... however the video shakes and sometimes turns blue. I also would like to make sure to the saved videos I am recording is being saved on the 1tb drive instead of the 160gb one. How do I do this? HELP! I'm so close!
