I use camera groups to get what I think you're looking for. My cameras each have a HiDef and a LowDef feed. The lowdef feeds are set to modect, the hidef are set to monitor and link to the lowdef feed so I do motion detection on the lowdef feed and then record on both feeds when an event is triggered.
I set up two groups, one that has all the hidef feeds, and another that has all the lowdef feeds. When I want to see what's going on via a remote connection I don't want to use the bandwidth that the hidef feeds would need so I just pull up a montage of the lowdef group.

You can also select the group when viewing the main zm webpage, then click the montage link. But that means changing groups back and forth as you want to view different things. By saving a bookmark to the specific group I can still see all the cameras but I have a handy bookmark for just the lowdef group.
